Newborn tracker: log feeds, naps and diapers in seconds

When did the baby last eat? At 3 am, after a night of broken sleep, nobody remembers. EasyRoutine works as a simple newborn tracker: it logs each feed, nap and diaper change with the time in a few taps, so the answer is on your phone the next time you wonder.

A simple newborn tracker built on a general routine app

EasyRoutine is a general routine tracker. Supplements, skincare and workouts are common uses, but an activity can be anything you do again and again, and few things repeat like newborn care. You add the activities, and the app records each time one happens, with the date and time.

What it records is that and when: a feed at 2:40, a nap at 10:15, a diaper change at 11:00. It does not measure amounts, ounces or minutes, run a timer, or chart anything. If you need those numbers, a dedicated baby app is the better pick. If you mainly need to answer "when was the last one?", this is enough, and it stays fast.

Set it up in two minutes

Create a routine called Baby and add an activity for each thing you want to keep track of:

  • Feed
  • Nap
  • Diaper
  • Tummy time
  • Bath

Each one gets its own color, so the day reads at a glance. You can also split them into separate routines, for example Feeding, Sleep and Medicine, if that matches how you think. There is no limit on routines or activities. Most people find one Baby routine easier at night, because everything is in the same place.

Log a feed, nap or change in a few taps

Tap Log in today's day view, pick Feed and tap OK: it is logged with the current time. Every feed is its own log, so eight feeds in a day are eight times on the record. If you changed the diaper and then fed, pick both in the same list and they are logged at once.

If you want to remember something about a feed, tap the logged entry and add a short note and a green, amber or red flag. Write down what you would otherwise forget by morning: "left side", "bottle", "spit up after", "fell asleep halfway", or anything you want to mention at the next checkup. The note is plain text for you to read later; it is not counted or turned into numbers, and it does not show on the calendar itself. The log sheet shows your last few notes for that activity, so you can check which side the last feed was on before you start the next one.

Logged it a bit late? Tap the entry and change its time, or add a log afterwards for the time it really happened. The app follows your phone's dark mode, which is easier on the eyes in a dark nursery.

Check quickly whether the baby already ate

Open the day view and today's entries are listed with their times. The last feed is right there, for example at 4:10. You do not need to scroll back through notes or ask the other parent what time it was.

To see one thing on its own, tap its tile at the top of the calendar, Feed for example. The calendar then shows only feeds, so the last tile is the last feed, even if it was yesterday evening. Tap Diaper instead to see when the last change was.

The week view shows several days side by side, which helps when you want to see whether naps have shifted later this week, or tell the pediatrician roughly how the past few days went. EasyRoutine does not interpret any of it. It shows what you logged, and you and your doctor draw the conclusions.

For the longer view, the month view shows up to four dots per day, enough to see on which days the bath really happened over the past weeks.

Do you need a schedule?

Mostly not. Feeds and naps with a newborn rarely follow the clock, and logging needs no plan: the Log button on the day works on the free plan without any schedule. Scheduling is useful for the things that do have a set time, like a bath every Wednesday and Sunday evening, or a medicine your pediatrician prescribed at fixed times. With Premium you can put those on weekdays and times and get a reminder on time or up to 30 minutes before. A planned entry shows faded on the calendar; tap it and the Log Entry sheet opens with the planned time, ready to save. EasyRoutine does not know any doses; questions about medicine belong with your pediatrician or pharmacist. More about scheduling.

Two parents, two phones

Your routines and logs are kept in your account and sync to every phone or iPad where you are signed in, on iPhone and Android. That means your record follows you from your phone to your tablet. It does not mean two people can share one log: each account is personal, and there is no way to share routines with someone else's account. Each parent who uses EasyRoutine keeps their own record. How sign-in and sync work.

The app needs an internet connection to open and to log, so it is not suited to places without any signal.

Free and Premium

Everything a newborn log needs is free: routines, activities, logging, back-dating, notes, flags and the calendar, with a banner ad at the bottom of the calendar. Premium adds schedules, reminders and removes ads, for $1.49 a month in the US (local prices elsewhere). See pricing.

Common questions

Can I log a feeding or nap quickly?

Yes. Tap Log on today, pick the activity and tap OK, and it is logged with the current time. Tap the logged entry if you want to add a note or flag or adjust the time, but you do not have to. Logging is free.

Can I quickly check if the baby already ate?

Yes. The day view lists today's logs with their times, so you can see when the last feed was. EasyRoutine records when a feed happened, not how much or how long.

Can I see only the feeds, or only the diaper changes?

Yes. Tap the activity's tile at the top of the calendar and only that activity is shown, so the last entry is the last feed or change. This is free.

Can I use it as a baby feeding and sleep tracker app?

Yes, for the times. Make activities such as Feed and Nap in one Baby routine, or separate Feeding and Sleep routines, and log each one when it happens. It records when a feed or nap happened, not how much or how long, and there is no limit on routines or activities.

Does it sync if both parents use their own phones?

Your data syncs across every device signed into your own account. There is no sharing between two different accounts, so each parent with their own account keeps a separate log.
